Lockers

Purpose

Technology products eventually reach the end of their life cycle due to factors like evolving market needs, technological advancements, or the availability of newer, more feature-rich versions. To help plan and manage this transition smoothly for our customers, this policy outlines the EOL of our Smart Lockers in order that customers are informed and supported when Smart Lockers approach their end of life.

 

Scope

The Policy applies to all hardware, software and firmware within the FUYL Smart Locker product line. This policy covers the phasing out of support for both the physical hardware and the associated firmware and software required for Smart Lockers. Once a Smart Locker reaches its End of Life, all forms of support will be discontinued, and the Smart Locker may no longer function as intended.

Term Definition
End-of-life announcement (EOLA) 6 months prior to the EOL an announcement is made to confirm the EOL date for a product and its version.
End-of life (EOL) The last date the specific product version is sold.  After this date the product is no longer available for sale via any channel.
End-of-support (EOS)

The last date that the product is fully supported.  After this date it will no longer be supported.    

 The EOS is 5 years after the EOL

What to expect at EOS (unless under contract)
  • Hardware will stop connecting to the cloud or working with the cloud.  We’re committed to communicating this early so we have time to work with each customer on a plan as we approach the EOS date.  
  • Hardware will stop getting firmware updates. 
  • Might still operate in offline mode if the HW has an offline non-cloud mode.   (If  it is not working there is no support available to get it working.) 
  • Hardware will not have access to spare parts. 
  • Hardware will not be supported by the support team. 
  • Hardware only affects the hardware; it does not affect the Cloud. 

 

When under a “FUYL Smart Locker System Subscription” Contract:

Any hardware covered by a subscription contract will continue to be fully supported for the entire duration of that contract, even if it extends beyond the product’s End of Life (EOS) date. In the unlikely event that unforeseen circumstances prevent us from maintaining support, LocknCharge/PC Locs will provide a replacement with a similar supported Smart Locker at no additional cost to you.
