UVone Testing Data
UVone has been thoroughly tested in accredited, BSL-compliant labs.

Bacteria/Virus | Kill Rate | Disinfecting Time | Laboratory Information |
---|---|---|---|
MRSA | 5-log kill or 99.999% | 30 seconds | Testing conducted by an accredited, GLP-compliant, BSL-2 laboratory. |
C. Diff | 3-log kill or 99.9% | 30 seconds | Testing conducted by an accredited, GLP-compliant, BSL-2 laboratory. |
4-log kill or 99.99% | 60 seconds | Testing conducted by an accredited, GLP-compliant, BSL-2 laboratory. | |
SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19 | 4-log kill or 99.99% | 30 seconds | Testing conducted by a BSL-3 laboratory from the University of Tennessee. |
Salmonella | 5-log kill or 99.999% | 30 seconds | Testing conducted by an accredited, third-party, BSL-2 laboratory. |
6-log kill or 99.9999% | 60 seconds | Testing conducted by an accredited, third-party, BSL-2 laboratory. |
Information About SARS-CoV-2 Testing Data
Current labs who are testing against the SARS-CoV-2 pathogen do not have concentrations of the virus sufficient to prove greater than 4-log reduction. While we believe a 6-log reduction is likely with the SARS-CoV-2 pathogen in the UVone, it is currently only possible to test against a 4-log concentration when compared with the control amount. This is why we only claim 4-log, though it is likely much greater than this.
In the study, it was observed that no pathogen survived the disinfection cycle of 30 seconds. Though it would be desirable to have proof of greater than 4-log reduction, the fact we were able to get this study showing a 4-log reduction in a BSL 3 laboratory setting from the University of Tennessee provides significant evidence of the effectiveness of the UVone against this devastating pathogen.
How can I verify that any UV-C disinfection station, including UVone, is actually disinfecting devices?
UV-C Dosimeters purchased through Intellego Technologies, a highly-accredited company, can measure the mJ dosage via a simple card. You can see how it works here.
MRSA and C. diff
- When exposed to an appropriate dose of UV-C, the yellow area on the card changes to orange and deep pink, which can be correlated to a 3-log reduction of MRSA and C. diff, based on 50 and 100 mJ/cm² respectively.
- When a card is placed inside the UVone unit for 30 seconds, the reading indicates 100 mJ dosage–which proves a significant reduction for both MRSA and C. diff.
SARS-CoV-2
- According to a study conducted by Signify and Boston University, it was determined that a dose of 22mJ/cm2 will result in a reduction of 99.9999% in 25 seconds.
- When a card is placed inside the UVone unit for 30 seconds, the reading indicates 100 mJ dosage–well above the 22mJ needed to kill SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19.
